HR and Payroll Administrator

The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Human Resources/Payroll Administrator to join our Administration team.  Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll administration and processing, various Human Resources tasks and employee support, as well as other general administration support.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll including new hires, terminations, rate changes and other data relating to employee records and payroll processing
  • Remain up to date on all applicable legislations and HR/Payroll best practices
  • Timely preparation of required payroll remittances to all government and non-government related bodies
  • Maintain employee personnel files and training records 
  • Respond to employee and any government agencies queries 
  • Update, communicate and administer payroll and Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Support the Management team in Human Resource matters
  • Maintain compliance and provide support for all Health & Safety Regulations and Joint Health & Safety Committee
  • Provide support for group benefits administration
  • Assist in all recruiting activity including resume reviews and scheduling and conducting interviews
  • Assist the Controller and General Manager with correspondence, special reports and administrative tasks 
  • Support the administrative team with ad hoc tasks and projects
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience
  • Post secondary education in Human Resources or Payroll Administration
  • Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation through the Canadian Payroll Association, or designation in progress is an asset
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of Human Resource principles, practices and the Employment Standards Act
  • Detail oriented, organized and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Joint Health & Safety Training is an asset
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office and other common applications and HR/Payroll systems

Food Server

Job Summary
Provide food and beverage service to the Club’s Members and guests.

Job Tasks/Additional Responsibilities:
  • Sets up side station and performs assigned side (prep) work.
  • Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
  • Distributes food and wine menus; answers questions.
  • Takes members’ and guests’ orders; suggestively sells food and beverage items, if appropriate.
  • Places order with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Serves meals; places dishes by course in front of each person.
  • Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary.
  • Removes soiled dishes.
  • Presents desert menus, suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
  • Presents the bill
  • Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean.
  • Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the dining room captain (dining room supervisor, dining room manager, or outlet manager).
  • Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
  • Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
  • Performs other appropriate duties assigned by dining room or outlet manager.
